2016 Lucky Dog Gala

A Wonderful Evening Full of Fun, Generosity and Special Dogs!

Hosted by Tom and Jennifer Werbe

On St Patrick’s Day 2016, Peace of Mind Dog Rescue held our first annual Lucky Dog Gala at a private club in Pebble Beach. One hundred and thirty dedicated supporters and a couple of adorable canine ambassadors attended the event.

The evening began with a cocktail reception where guests could bid on silent auction items, enjoy passed appetizers and sip wines donated by Hahn Family Winery and Mercy Vineyards.

During dinner, Executive Director and Co-founder Carie Broecker spoke about our mission and accomplishments: close to 1,000 dogs rescued since 2009! The highlight of the evening was our heartwarming Lucky Dog Video produced by Board President and Co-founder Monica Rua. The video chronicles the stories of two neglected dogs who came to POMDR and became Lucky Dogs.

After the video, auctioneer Lisa Taylor easily encouraged guests to raise their bid paddles to “Fund-a-Dog’s Life”, raising $58,000 for the medical needs of the dogs we rescue. Next, Lisa called the Live Auction for seven exciting auction packages that raised another $29,000.

The event far exceeded our goal and raised nearly $150,000 to support our lifesaving work.

We hope to see you next year. Mark your calendars now for next year’s event on Thursday, March 16, 2017!
